Community Involvement
Direct Affect was established in 2005 as the result of a need from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. From the beginning, our employees gave of their time and resources to help those in need.
Employees at APS continue to participate each year in many local outreach programs and charity events. Direct Affect has allowed the company's culture of giving to take on a life of its own. The events have included walking for Juvenile Diabetes Research, sending Care Packages for US troops overseas, contributing to the Crippled Children's Foundation, United Way, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and PADS (Parent Advocates Down Syndrome).
American Pipe employees also invest their time and resources contributing to other local events that help those close to home including community blood drives, rescue missions, youth and children's homes.
Current projects that APS is involved with are Alliance Ministries (organization to build homes for orphans in the Dominican Republic) and Operation Lakeshore (organization involved in construction of family housing for family members of rehabilitating veterans).
