Our History
Founded in 1977, American Pipe & Supply, Inc. has continually taken pride in providing customers throughout the southeast with quality pipe, valve and fitting products. With its vast offering of products, APS has become known as a one stop shop with emphasis on providing exceptional customer service. Our company provides products to the industrial and commercial contractors, industrial-manufacturing plants, underground utility contractors, and fire protection contractors.
In 1996, two Birmingham businessmen familiar with the construction and distribution industries determined to build a company that provided reliable products and services to the construction market, purchased the assets of American Pipe and Supply. While everyone has a choice, it is our commitment to our employees, our customers and suppliers to be their “The Supplier of Choice.”
Throughout the past 10 years APS has continued to implement its original plan expanding into the commercial plumbing market and has grown to include over 80+ employees whose level of experience continues to enhance our ability to serve our customer base. We have continued to expand to include branches in Nashville, TN, Decatur, AL and Montgomery, AL .
Through American Pipe & Supply's association with Affiliated Distributors, we are now part of a network of affiliated wholesalers throughout the country which enhances our product lines and level of service.
In January of 2007, American Pipe & Supply broke ground on a new facility that would become the main Birmingham branch, housing all corporate staff, inside and outside sales, a full service counter and warehouse as well as a fabrication shop.
This branch serves as both a branch and a main distribution point servicing our other 4 branches daily.
The original branch began at 3300 5th Ave South on Birmingham's south side and still houses a customer pick-up counter and warehouse. Our branch is conveniently located to the downtown medical center and UAB campus areas.
